Silver Creek Work Party

Project: Pollution Solutions

Jun. 25, 2008  06:00 PM  08:00 PM

We are having a work party on Wednesday, June 25 at 6pm at Silver Creek. Please come out to help nurture this sensitive area which borders one of the few remaining woodlands in the Coves Subwatershed. Silver Creek is the main natural tributary which drains into the Coves.

We will meet on the path between Beachwood Ave. and the Euston Park Woods (see map HERE). You can only access this path on foot through entry points from Emery St. W, Baseline Rd. W or beside 430 Beachwood Ave.; these paths as well as a suggested parking spot are highlighted on the map.

We will be performing stewardship work in a recently established naturalization area along Silver Creek. The work will include placing mulch around recently planted trees and shrubs and removing invasive, non-native plants. Work gloves and shovels will be provided. Please bring a hand trowel or wheelbarrow if you are able to.

This work will be suitable for volunteers of any age
