New Friend of the Coves Wanted - POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED

The Friends of the Coves seek a Youth Involvement Coordinator to engage youth in environmental stewardship in the Coves Subwatershed. This will include the development and delivery of curriculum-based activities, outdoor education field trips, in-class presentations and event displays. It will also include the development of new partnerships with youth groups, families with youth, and young professionals through various outreach methods.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered, please submit a resume with a cover letter that outlines how each of the following qualifications is met:
- University or college diploma in communications, education, environmental studies/science, marketing or other applicable field.
-Strong interest in the environment as identified by previous volunteer, education or work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Responsible self-starter and team player
- Experience with related activities such as event coordination, youth organization/education, fundraising, influencing sustainable behaviour, and membership recruitment would be an asset.
- Experience working with publishing software would be an asset, particularly Adobe Suite (Illustrator, In Design, Photoshop)
ELIGIBILITY*** ***Eligible participants are Unemployed Individuals:
- Who have established a claim for Employment Insurance benefits, or
- Whose Employment Insurance benefit period ended within the last three (3) years, or
- Who established and was paid a claim for Employment Insurance maternity or parental benefits within the past five (5) years and are re-entering the labour force after having left it to care for newborn or newly adopted children.
