Our newest Friend of the Coves!
New Community Involvement Coordinator to get young people interested in all things Coves!
The Friends of the Coves recently welcomed a new member to the staff. Will Lyons joined us last month as the Community Involvement Coordinator. His role is to head up new outreach programs to get young people interested in environmental projects that will benefit the communities in the Coves Subwatershed. And it seems that we’ve picked just the right person for the job. Complementing his academic background in science, Will brings a variety of experiences to the Friends including working with species at risk, teaching, educating young people about conservation and having a great personal interest in nature.“There’s a lot of work to do over the next few months. I’m eager for Spring so we can start getting some groups out there to discover the natural areas in and around the Coves. It’s very gratifying when people see something for the first time and get a sense of how important it is to preserve it and advocate for it,” says Lyons.
Keep watching for updates in the Spring for our new programs!
