The Thames River Clean Up brought together the entire Thames River community
Project: Coves Cleanup
This year the Thames River Clean Up brought together around 2000 volunteers in groups from Mitchell, Stratford, Woodstock and London all the way down to the mouth of the Thames River at Lighthouse Cove. This was the 10th year of this organized clean up of the entire Thames River corridor and it was the 18th annual clean up by our group of our section of it in the Coves Subwatershed.
The Winner of the 10th Annual Thames River Clean Up Grand Prize is Heather MacDonald from the volunteer group from General Dynamics!
Heather won a brand new 16' Prospector Nova Craft Canoe. The canoe presentation will be at Nova Craft Canoe on Friday, May 8th @ 4pm. Everyone is welcome to come and congratulate Heather and be in a group picture for the Thames River Clean Up website.
Heather helped clean up Pottersburg Creek in London which has been "Adopted" by one of the Thames River Clean Up's most generous sponsors General Dynamics Land Systems. General Dynamics has donated the work gloves (2000 pairs) each year for the Thames River Clean Up.
Thank you to all of the hard working volunteers and the sponsors who made this the biggest Thames River Clean Up yet
Friends of the Coves Subwatershed are proud to be part of such a wide clean up effort and we thank the Thames River Clean Up for organizing this event
