The Amazing Tree Quest
Have you heard about The Amazing Tree Quest???
The Amazing Tree Quest is a contest that has been organized by local non-profit organization Reforest London to recognize some of the amazing trees in London. There are 10 different categories in which trees can be nominated, such as Neighbourhood Landmark, Spookiest and Best Story. There are some great prizes to be won for the trees voted as the top trees in their category. Entries will be accepted until July 31, 2009.
The famous Coves Sycamore that stands on the shoreline of the East Pond has been nominated and has a great story to go along with it. Find that entry under the Greatest Survivor category. There are many other amazing trees in The Coves and across London that deserve to be recognized, so get outside with your camera and nominate your favourite.

This Sycamore on the East Pond of The Coves has withstood fires, erosion and countless other pressures. It has also been an inspiration for many artists, naturalists and even young lovers (see the contest entry in the Greatest Survivor category for a great story of how it brought one couple together).
