Friends of the Coves Spring 2010 Bird Count Results
On May 15th 2010, a dedicated group of volunteers took part in the annual Spring Bird Count. Areas surveyed included, the lowland areas of the Coves, upland wooded areas including: Briscoe Woods, Euston Park and Highland woods and the open grassland area of Euston Park.
In total 56 different bird species were recorded, a comparable number to the 2009 Spring Bird count when 60 species were recorded.
Full results can be viewed at 2010 Coves Spring Bird Count Results.
Of the 56 species, it is the first time the Orange-crowned Warbler has been recorded in the area.
